VIRTUAL KENNEL CLUB TITLING PROGRAM

Titling your dog ensures that they are of proper breeding stock. With every win your dog gains, they may also gain title points. When titling your dog, it's best to stick to the sports that reflect your breed's history and purpose, but it's always fun to extend outward from there. The higher the level of titles, the better. Think about breed purpose too. For example: herding breeds should have herding titles at minimum. The titles of a dog should be taken into account when you're looking to buy a dog and when you're breeding! Titles prove that the dogs match with what their breed is supposed to do and its history. You can find more information on each sport in their respective pages. If you ever have any questions, feel free to message us.

Sport Titling

VKC titles are earned through 'Points'. A dog earns a point by placing in the top 20% of a class containing 3 or more dogs. Our leaderboard tracks your dogs total  points for your access.

Sport Placements

Sports have a much simpler placement system than conformation. In each class 4 dogs are placed 1st-4th in class. The class winners compete then compete against each other for High In Trial (HIT) and Reserve High In Trial (R.HIT)

Conformation Titling

Conformation titles are earned through a different point system to sports.
Dogs are required to have BOS wins as well as points. Points earned in one show are not cumulative- your dogs highest placement is how many points are recieved. Points are awarded as follows, regardless of competition:
Class Winner: 2 Points, BOS: 4 Points, RBM/RBF: 3 Points, BOB: 6 Points, BIG1: 8 Points, BIG2: 7 Points, BIS1: 10 points, BIS2: 9 Points, BPIS1-2: 10 points, BPIS3: 9 Points, BVIS1-2: 10 Points, BVIS3: 9 Points

Conformation Placements

Before competing against other dogs, all dogs first recieve a rating. Dogs of sufficient quality are awarded the Champion Quality award (CK). Dogs compete then in their class, with 1st-4th place being awarded. 1st place class winners compete for Best of Sex (BOS) within their gender. The runner up dog for BOS is awarded Reserve Best Male/Female (RBM/RBF). The BOS winners compete for Best of Breed (BOB). BOB winners then go on to the group stage, and awarded BIG1-4 in their FCI group. THe BIG1 winneres will then try for Best in Show! There will be BIS1-4 awarded. Puppies and Veterans class winners compete for additional BIS placements (BPIS1-4/BVIS1-4)
